I was recently over in Hawaii to photograph newly remodeled classrooms for Maryknoll School in Honolulu. The first morning that we were there Casey and I went out for a morning drive before the busy day of shooting ahead. We drove out and stopped at a lookout near the Makapuu Lighthouse we didn’t have time to go out to the lighthouse but photographed the beach below from the top of the cliffs.
After trying a few vantage points I decided to call that spot and head back toward some cliffs that I saw on drive out. About halfway to the cliffs the sunrise was starting to look gorgeous so we pulled over at a local beach. That’s where I shot the image above. As I worked my way down to the beach and rocks I started to really like how the water was crashing and pooling in the rocks along the beach. It was a great spot and I’m glad we stopped. I unfortunately lost track of time and spent a bit more time here than I meant too. I’ll catch those cliffs on my next trip and would like to go out to the lighthouse as well.
The shoot for Maryknoll turned out really well and I will posting a few of those images in the next week. Also, keep an eye on the blog as I will be shooting the Timbers vs Galaxy game on Sunday and will hopefully have some great images to share!
