Napa Valley: Part II

One of the highlights on our trip to Napa was visiting the Castello Di Amorosa Winery. It is a winery modeled after a Tuscan Castle! It is quite impressive pulling into the driving and going up the hill to the castle. It towers above the landscape and is truly a dramatic piece of architecture. Casey and I got a general admission pass to explore the Castello and have 5 samples of wine. I’m not much of an alcohol drinker (just never seemed to acquire a taste for it) but I did find one wine that I really enjoyed a sparkling sweet wine called La Fantasia. As we walked around the grounds you get a sense for how they truly went all out building the Castello. As you walk through the corridors and up into the tower you see how authentic they tried to keep everything. The doors are huge and I heard one tour guide say they were brought over from Italy. Below are a couple of images from Castello.
