Northern Ireland

The Giant's Causeway

Giant’s Causeway – Northern Ireland

This is the second major post from my trip to Ireland + Scotland. The first was about our visit to Trinity College – if you missed it you can read that here. I also wanted to mention I’m running a promotion for the rest of the year. All orders in the Print Shop are 15% off with the coupon code “HolidayPrints13“. This includes every item in the print shop including the Giant’s Causeway image above.

The Pathway

Garden Pathway covered in leaves

Last weekend I took a trip over to the Portland Japanese Garden. It’s one of my favorite spots to visit in Portland and exceptionally beautiful in the Fall. As I hoped it was a cold overcast day where the light was beautiful and soft and the crowds minimal. The above photo was my favorite image of the excursion. It is of a path in the SE section of of the Garden where you can follow this trail down to a lower garden area. I’ve always just loved this path and thought that it reminded me of something from storybook fantasy.

Keep an eye on the blog in the coming week for some more images from the Portland Japanese Garden.

Crashing Waves

I wasn’t planning on posting another image from this series so soon but I liked this image so much when that I couldn’t help myself. It was taken at nearby location to the photo I posted Yesterday. I just really liked how the color in the sky was reflected in the wet rocks and the decisive moment of the wave crashing. This was one of the final images I took before having to head back to Honolulu for our day of client projects for Casey and I.

Photo Details:
If you care I shot this with my 5D Mark II + Sigma 35mm lens. I had to hand hold this image as I accidentally left my tripod back in our room.

Tidal Pools

I was recently over in Hawaii to photograph newly remodeled classrooms for Maryknoll School in Honolulu. The first morning that we were there Casey and I went out for a morning drive before the busy day of shooting ahead. We drove out and stopped at a lookout near the Makapuu Lighthouse we didn’t have time to go out to the lighthouse but photographed the beach below from the top of the cliffs.
